This is an old timey airbrush painting of a car that is a throwback to the 60s. The gt40 was one of the coolest American cars ever made and the star of the movie Ford vs Ferrari. The GT was a remake of that race car. I remember back when I was first starting to post my work online – around 2005 – forum mods would accuse me of using photo manipulation. At the time I didn’t even know what that was. I had taught myself to paint using photoshop in an airbrush with frisket manner. For people who don’t know – it means that you use flat shapes that you carefully cut out to control where the spray goes. It lets you make highly realistic paintings from scratch. They would always take my work out of the art section and put it in the photography category to let me know that they thought I was cheating. I bet those guys are still mad in 2021.

This is an old stock car with a cowboy driver. I like old cars – they have more character. They weren’t made as well as cars today but they looked cooler. This is based on an old Cooper Mini with a hotrod engine. It is being driven by legendary driver Jack White. He lives in his car.
