I am no expert at human anatomy – bodies are so complicated. This is an attempt at a retro pinup digital painting. I was introduced to the work of George Petty when I was a kid – that guy was a master of drawing women. I love how he simplified bodies and exaggerated features and left parts of their clothing flat and un-painted to emphasize their skin. He worked with an airbrush and painted from multiple reference photos – picking the best features. His work really represents the 40s and he is responsible for a lot of the pinups that showed up on the front of bombers in WW2
I am an artist and illustrator who aims to capture the whimsical, mass produced, slightly sinister, gimmicky, derivative, transient and expendable nature of modern life.
