This is a Nike Air Max design that is aimed at performance. Recently Air Max has become a lifestyle shoe and this one is the opposite. It is light and streamlined and designed for running. This a mix of gaudy detail and minimalism. Who knew a small window in a sole could make Nike so much money?
Monsters spend their weekends sweeping blue fuzzy dust balls from under their bed. This is a friendly blue fuzzball called poof. She is poofy and sweet.
This is a blue Aventador – a Lamborghini hypercar. I like how sharp and dangerous it looks. It has edges that do beautiful things to the light that strikes it. Cars in 2018 are exquisite rolling works of art. It is also a throwback to the Countache – the first supercar I remember from when I was a kid. In my work there is a dichotomy – I have a whimsical airbrush style of monsters and critters and also a more formal style that focuses on hyper realistic paintings of shiny objects and machines.
This is a cotton candy monster. He is sweet and poofy but be careful he rots your teeth.
This is a Nike running shoe concept. It is inspired by post apocalyptic industrial design from the 80s. It has a self lacing mechanism that is visible on the outside of the shoe. It also has an outsole that flakes away as you wear it.
This is a concept design of Jordan trainers. I created them using photoshop and a wacom tablet. Shoes are very simple to make – starting with a silhouette you can paint a realistic shoe in minutes. Laces are on the way out. These shoes are designed to ratchet down onto your foot. I like the old shoe designs by Tinker Hatfield. These are a throwback to when shoes had simple flat soles. These have blinking diamond fiber optics.
