Post postmodernism is a radical embracing of Nothing. “Poetry makes nothing happen”. (Auden for Yeats) This is Michael Stipe paying homage to nothing – the keystone of Post postmodernism. He is among the army of pop culture icons who were programmed by Project Monarch to extol the virtues of nothing. His band REM and their albums New Adventures in Hifi, Automatic for the People, Murmur and Document are some of the best records in rock history. Watch him cover Bowie’s classic “Man Who Sold the World“. That man has an enormous supply of feels in him. ;_; Michael please grow a twirly mustache to go with your magnificent beard.
