I once drove for 3 days and applied for a job in New Mexico at a place that made temporary tattoos. The lady who was interviewing me was the daughter of the owner of the factory. She said that my work was good and that I had the job already – I just needed to be careful and refrain from saying anything stupid or creepy for the remainder of the interview. I really needed the job badly and she could obviously tell. But that didn’t stop me from telling her about my fish art that she said she liked. I mentioned that I once watched my father filet a fish and it gave me empathy for all fish and a strange quirky and slightly disturbing view of fish. She looked at me as she made a face of fear and let out an ahhh! Needless to say I didn’t get hired. Here lady – here is your fish. It represents how many times I dissected in my head the conversation I had with you. It represents how many times I thought about why you didn’t hire me and why you automatically assumed I was some sort of psycho or bad person who couldn’t be trusted.
