This is a witch eating a kitty cat head first. Don’t harm kitties.
This is Snoo — Reddit’s lovable white alien mascot. I painted him in photoshop with a yoga 2 in 1. I am the digital art equivalent of the guy at the fair who paints t‑shirts with an airbrush. I love Reddit — it has all of the beauty and horror of the internet with a semblance of safety. I also love Snoo so I gave him some feet.
I love the Rolling Stones. They have been making incredibly good and relevant rock music since the 1960s. They also have one of the best logos ever created. It was made by English graphic designer John Pasche — though many believe that Andy Warhol designed it. This is a digital painting of the logo made to look like a poofy realistic airbrush painting. One of my most sad Christmas memories is of being home from college on a cold overcast Christmas day, riding around my hometown in a new car listening to Sticky Fingers by myself. It is such a textured, dirty, subversive and great record. I spent most of my time in and since college alone making art and listening to music. My art style is passè and heavily influenced by psychedelic 70s illustration with its fanciful airbrushed creatures, Pushpin bent, Terry Gilliam style and happy but slightly sinister tone.
This is a diamond covered metal skull and crossbones. It is a postpostmodern symbol of death and consumerism.
This is a monster scared in bed. He likes to stay up late watching horror movies. When it gets too scary he pulls his covers up over his head.
I love Maurice Sendak. I remember hot summer days and cold library rooms as a kid. I remember bewilderment and boredom punctuated by stories of monsters and adventure. I remember reading “Where the Wild Things Are” many times. The library was a few blocks from my dad’s office and I used to live there on summer break.
The first monster I remember is Cookie Monster. Every kid has cookie monster in there lurking beneath the surface – waiting to spring forth and gobble your cookies. They live on and for cookies. They eat them until they get a tummy ache.
This is a purple cartoon monster named Chris. He is a tiny fella who lives in your ears and eats ear wax. He likes it best when its yellow and runny.
This is a goofy and cheesy pepperoni covered pizza slice that is affiliated with the illuminati. He sometimes feels the existential angst of modern life peering blankly over his doughy shoulder and he mirrors the look on his face.
This is the final form of Gozer from Ghostbusters. He is a sweet giant puffy guy with a sailor suit and a nice smile. He is Ray’s fault.
This is a unicorn puking a rainbow. It is one of the internet’s oldest memes. Though I support the LGBT community it has nothing to do with gay rights. It was originally coined to reference the gaudy dayglo and pez colors splashed on packages in Japanese culture. “Yo that rack of Japanese candy looks like a unicorn puked on it.” It succinctly represents how I feel about all consumerism. It is gaudy, garish, loud, obnoxious and it burns a little when it comes back up after a bender. I love internet culture — it is world culture.
I love the hulk. If he gets mad enough he can actually jump into space. I can’t imagine getting so pissed that you end up floating through an empty vacuum for eternity. That would give you a bunch of time to cool off and think about how you ended up there. You would live out eternity with nothing but your thoughts and memories.
