Bioluminescence is amazing. It is magical how some insects have evolved to use glowing bodyparts to communicate. This is a happy firefly with a giant grin and a glowy bum. Lightning bug cartoon.
This is an illustration of a red mosquito with yellow eyes. He gets his bright red color from the red monsters that he feeds on. He likes to buzz around rooms late at night looking for monsters.
Time is so strange. I remember being on the UGA campus in the 90s outside the dorms on a funky yellow misty spring day when it was still mostly winter. It was Monday between classes. I remember being completely alone. It was my third year in school. I took my drawing board with me everywhere. I remember sitting on a yellow hill and drawing lamp posts and bushes by myself. I knew even then that art was a terrible profession. I remember Innervisions every day after class. I remember not fitting in. I remember the feeling of being unsure of my future. I remember hostile and aloof teachers. I remember knowing that this strange span of time would stick with me. And it did. That time was like a rash — like some sort of tunnel to the future. A future that blows. Purple alien Graffiti Bug.
It is amazing how our planet has seasons only because it rotates on a tilted axis — much like my brain. I can’t imagine a world with only one season. So many cool and random things happened in succession to make us how we are. I love Spring. So many bright colors, sounds and smells. Hard working noisy bees and gaudy flowers are the first things I notice with the warmer weather.
Crazy cockroaches sleep during the day and come out at night. They live in and on garbage. They hang around drains and under boxes. Their brain is random and chaotic just like the universe. They are alienated by higher life forms and even a burden to those around them. Checkout their theme song.
