This is Jony Ive as an apple pencil. I really love my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. It has completely recharged my creative drive. It is so much better than any other art device I have had and it costs way less than the best Cintiqs. I have waited about 20 years for a device like this – wasting money on massive heavy screen tablets that never panned out. Making art is never about being chained to a desk – it is always about taking it with you and being comfortable and inspired by the world. I also love Procreate – it curates all the tools that you need to draw and paint , makes them work like their natural media counterparts and makes them easy to find and use. Things like liquify, smudge and distort are irreplaceable and they work perfectly – far better than they do in photoshop. You also never need a keyboard for shortcut keys – they are the bane of digital art and they are required when you use cluttered and out of date apps like photoshop. And the new pencil has the perfect feel and the right amount of pressure sensitivity – it makes drawing feel like natural media. Also the screen is so much better than anything wacom makes – being able to see what you do accurately is the most important part of making art. Apple took all of the knowledge that they gleaned from making iphones for a decade and created the perfect drawing and painting tool.
